Electrical Engineer - Solar

They are actively looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who will play a key role in the planning, installation and commissioning of large photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The focus will be on DC and medium-voltage systems.


This is a permanent role with the place of work in Munich, Germany.


Your Role

  • Design and planning of multi-MW range utility scale solar projects

  • Accompany a project from late development status until commercial operation date

  • Interface between project relevant parties such as development department, external service providers, project management, site management with regards to technical points

  • Designing project layout and performing cable calculations

  • Creating layouts, detail drawings and electrical diagrams (low and medium voltage)

  • Executing yield simulations

  • Performing technical project assessment and preparing due-diligence reports

  • Responsible for compliance with the requirements for grid connections

  • Responsible for compliance with technical standards, regulations and norms

  • Responsible for the technical documentation

  • Interface between third party detailed engineering contractors and the company

  • Approval of detailed design & drawings of third party detailed engineering contractors


Your Profile

  • M.Sc. / Diploma in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification.

  • Professional experience in the planning and realization of solar energy power plants, especially in the areas of DC and medium voltage.

  • Sound knowledge of DC and medium voltage systems, including relevant safety and installation standards.

  • Experience with common electrical design tools and software, e.g. AutoCAD or PVSyst.

  • Ability to analyze technical problems and develop efficient solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills (minimum English, German) and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel for work and occasional field work on construction sites, driving license B.
